Dr. Warner has over 25 years of experience in the field of counseling. She is a dual licensed professional, holding a License Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) license in Colorado, as well as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license in Montana. Her expertise encompasses individual, couples, and family therapy, and she has successfully maintained a private practice in both states.
Throughout her career, Dr. Warner has held various positions, including Director and Program Manager of the Addiction Recovery Center in Yuma, Arizona, as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor for Graduate Counseling Programs. She has provided counseling, psycho-educational support, and group facilitation for individuals in residential treatment, adjudicated clients, and those struggling with addiction.
Dr. Warner’s expertise extends to her role as a Mental Health Consultant for the US Department of Defense. She provides services through the Military and Family Consultant (MFLC) Program with MHN and Military One Source, assisting Active Service Members, Guard and Reserve Components, Veterans, and their families. In this capacity, she equips them with coping skills, proven behavioral techniques, and psycho-educational skills necessary to thrive in the face of the challenges presented by the military lifestyle and the cycles of deployment.
Dr. Kathryn Warner’s academic journey is characterized by her dedication to the field of counseling. She earned a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling from Newburgh Theological Seminary, a Master’s degree in Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University, a Master’s degree in Spiritual Formation from Ashland Theological Seminary, and a B.A. in General Ministry from Bethany University.
Dr. Warner holds several certifications, including National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Distance Certified Counselor (DCC) from the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). She is also certified in Art Therapy and Sand Play Therapy and is a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS). Additionally, she has served as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) with the NBCC.
Her commitment to professional development and ethical practice is reflected in her memberships in various organizations. Dr. Warner is a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors, the American Association of Christian Counselors, the American Counseling Association, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
